1590 route du lac, 40200 Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born, France
THE LAKE : located just in front of the campsite, the supervised bathing area is great for children thanks to its shallow water. The sandy beach, play-ground for children, beach-volley net and boat rental all add to the pleasure.
Next to the supervised area is another beach dedicated to wind surfers and people with pets.
THE OCEAN : if you fancy jumping in the waves, Mimizan-Plage is only a quick 11 miles away and can even be reached by the cycling path. The beaches of Mimizan are renowned for their fine golden sand.
THE POOL and paddling pool : opened from 15th June to 15th September. They might not form a big aquatic complex, but they are enough to please the little ones and people who don’t fancy sand between their toes.
The access is under parent’s supervision and shorts are not allowed.
We have two play grounds on the campsite and one on the beach, 2 petanque grounds, table tennis tables and a beach volley net.
The Vélodyssée passes just in front of the campsite.
This cycling path is part of the Euro Route 1 linking Norway to Portugal (via Scotland) and goes across every village of our coast.
So there is plenty to explore! Or you can just cycle to the village (2.5 miles south), prolong to the “Promenade Fleurie” of Mimizan (8 miles) or to the ocean (11 miles).
On Tuesdays, it’s a real pleasure to cycle along the lake to the little market of Gastes (2.5 miles). In any case, except on the dune, the ground is really flat around here and doesn’t require too much effort, so make the most of it! (If you are not equipped, don’t forget you can rent on site).
Camping du Lac has been awarded the Accueil Vélo label.
FISHING : Our fresh water lake (8000 acres) is good for fishing all sorts of carnivorous fish, white, carps. A contest is even organized each year. Find information on fishing regulations on www.cartedepeche.fr
MARINA : the municipal port is located next to the campsite. Possibility to reserve a berth (tel. +33673 99 29 31; email: port@sainteeulalieenborn.fr). Free access to the slipway.
BOATING : thanks to its big size, the lake hosts swimmers, fishermen, wind surfers, kite surfers, water skiers alike. Navigation is regulated and sailing boats and motor boats must pay a tax (information at reception) which also gives access to the northern lake of Biscarrosse.
